As part of the Women’s Employment Readiness pilot funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) has designed and implemented STEM Streams, a pre-employment and skills development training program for women and gender-diverse people interested in pursuing or advancing careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (i.e., STEM fields). Through the pilot program, participants access a series of eight skill development workshops, one-to-one coaching, personalized wrap-around supports, mentoring activities, and career connection programming. Working with capitalW, SRDC has been engaged to help assess STEM Streams by facilitating a series of online sharing circles with program participants to gather their perspectives on the program. Results will help better understand participants’ experiences with the STEM Streams pilot program and gather suggestions for future training.
