What We’re Learning - SRDC

What we are Learning

Partners will interview local experts and review background research to understand each community’s history with climate change, disaster response and recovery, and disability inclusion, with particular focus on whether and how people with disabilities participate in local planning and action.

Knowledge Sharing and Validation

We are committed to accessibility, transparency, and reciprocity throughout the research process.

  • Iterative feedback: After each stage of data collection, we will share summary findings with participants for validation and input.
  • Accessible formats: Feedback opportunities will be available virtually, in person, and in writing—using plain language and accessible formats.
  • Community support: We will collaborate with local allies to ensure participants have the tools and supports needed to provide meaningful and timely feedback.
  • Broad dissemination: Final insights will be shared with disability communities, emergency management practitioners, and policymakers to inform inclusive practice and policy.
