Le programme vise \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux \u00e9tudes postsecondaires des \u00e9l\u00e8ves se situant \u00ab dans la moyenne \u00bb en am\u00e9liorant leur acc\u00e8s aux cours plus rigoureux du secondaire et leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 les terminer. Bien que le programme AVID soit implant\u00e9<br \/>\ndans pr\u00e8s de 4 500 \u00e9coles \u00e0 travers le monde, il s\u2019agit ici de sa premi\u00e8re \u00e9valuation \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle au moyen d\u2019une rigoureuse m\u00e9thodologie d\u2019assignation al\u00e9atoire.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019objectif du projet \u00e9tait de d\u00e9terminer si le fait d\u2019offrir AVID au groupe vis\u00e9 (s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 et recrut\u00e9 en 8e ann\u00e9e) augmentait les chances que les membres de ce groupe cible s\u2019inscrivent dans des cours plus rigoureux \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole secondaire, am\u00e9liorent leur r\u00e9ussite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole secondaire et entreprennent des \u00e9tudes postsecondaires.
