It was announced recently that the Child Care Pilot Project (CCPP) has been expanded to include the Ontarian community of Orleans. Orleans is the sixth and final community to be added to the program, and is joined by Cornwall, Durham, Edmonton, Edmundston, and Saint John. Participants are still needed for all communities except Edmundston.
CCPP aims to discover if there is a way to help Francophone children in minority situations overcome the challenges they experience by living in predominantly Anglophone environments so that they are ready to learn when they enter the French school system.
Communities will begin implementing the Francophone childcare program in fall 2007, and the last evaluation is scheduled for January 2010.
